Obsessions

Obsessions wanting something when you know you don’t need that, you won’t have any use for that, but irrespective of logic and reasoning, you want something. That means you truly have a taste, a character, a personality. You don’t want something for the value it provides, but you simply want it because you like it.

Mostly people, when you point to them about their obsession over anything they just try so hard defend themselves, like having an obsession is a bad thing. I am not talking about the obsession that we all know for sure is a bad thing, but rather the obsession over trivial things like cars, bikes, watches, or even smaller things like action figures, toys from kinder joy. These obsessions do no harm, aside from the fact that they cost you money there is no harm in these little obsessions.

I strongly believe that these obsession are something that define our character. The world at large doesn’t much care about a personality, it only cares about the values. So in such a world isn’t it good to know that you have a personality, you have likes and dislikes that are not imposed on you by the society.

I don’t obsess over anything, at least I think I don’t. But then I wouldn’t know it until someone points it to me.
