My friend asked me, “why are you reading Fiction?” I couldn’t answer him. I didn’t have a proper answer at that moment. Then later that night I boarded a preplanned bus to my home town. The bus got extremely delayed and the 12hr journey ended up becoming around 18hrs.

I had The Lord of the Rings The Two Towers with me, which I was currently reading. I was having a window seat, a very comfortable one, because I was in the first row and there was plenty of leg room.

For a very long I have detested long journeys during day. I didn’t want to be confined in a moving vehicle where with nothing to do except stare outside the windows. so I started reading the book I had.

So in the The Lord of the Rings series the landscape is described in a amazing way. The sky they portray the mood of the scene. During war it gets dark, and in happier days it is like white clouds swimming across the beautiful blue sky. As I was reading I looked out and I felt how wonderful the day was. The roads were quiet for most part, The breeze was clean; and the sky, the sky was so beautiful. I got distracted.

In the book, when the war gets over in the helm’s deep and Gimli explains the caves to Legolas. It was amazing. I read it again and again and imagining it over and over in my head. At 2023 I went to Vietnam, there we went to these caves (I will mention the names) but I didn’t acknowledge their beauty then. I never thought about it until I came across this passage. I should have paid more attention to them when I was there.

And amidst of all that I found the answer for the question. I had the answer for the question for a long time without even knowing it. It teaches us things without us evening knowing it. It plants the seed, and waters it; either the book or series does it or some other book does that. Ultimately we end up with ideas

It helps us to pay attention to things that we probably otherwise would never have.

The river is beautiful because you are paying attention to it.

The world is only as beautiful as you allow it to be.
