I realised something about my thinking. when I form some hypothesis, or hear some insight about something from someone, or read from somewhere, if that makes sense in the surface level, I don’t question it. I don’t question the things critically. I don’t think about the what ifs.

  • I need to think of all the situations where even the base claim is invalid.
    • This is the most basic and critical question I should ask.
    • I had this idea after reading 1984 by George Orwell, that “Our Language determines our way of thinking.” then I refined it by saying “Our Language determines the rate at which we as a society think.”

Thinking is hard, so it’s natural that most people stop as soon as possible. We get the gist of something and move on to the next problem. 1
